Simplify Assembly

Hi Autodesk Community I am trying to make a simplified step file from a big assembly. When i have included all the parts i want into the simplified view, i then export to CAD format (step file), but when i open the step file, some parts i did not include, are visible! What could i be doing wrong? Hope some of you guys can help me out, thanks.

Hi

You need to derive the assembly into a part. You have a 4 options when you derive an assembly into a part i would read up on the derive function the help file then pick the most appropriate function.

Once you derive it into a part export it to a step file.

Okay, well it seems to do the trick by converting the "simplified assembly" into a "simplified part" and then export to step file.

Try Shrinkwrap.

Thank you @JDMather, shrinkwrap also seems to be a really nice and fast way to simplify an assembly. Awesome!
