Simple rotation Dynamic Simulation

Hi all

So Ive been pulling my hair out for a while trying to understand the concept!

Anyway, here is a shaft and a ring, Ive constrained it angularly so that when i drive the constraint it will rotate.....

However i cannot for the life of me get it to rotate in a simulation, ive tried torque around the shaft and force at a point, vector components...  no matter what i do the simulation player doesn't move. Can someone indicate what i am missing!

This is leading to what the stress analysis would be when spinning at a certain rotation..

thanks....

Hi! This should be fairly easy. Is this a school project or homework? If yes, please work with your team or your coach first. Attach the files so forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

Just self education, creating shapes is well described in the various tutorials but i cant find much of use on dynamis and stress analysis....

Files attached now, although they really are nothing more than an extruded cylinder, circle which are then aligned...

Hi! I took a quick look. The Angle:1 is redundant. You don't need it. To animate the rotation movement, you can right-click on Angle:2 -> Drive. You will see the spindle rotates.

If you want to do Dynamic Simulation, you will need to constrain slightly differently here. The Offset Flush cannot be converted to Joint properly. You need to make sure the components are constrained in a way that they have common coordinate system. Otherwise, it becomes hard to create the Joints. Please take a look at the attached file. I have relocated the cylinder a bit so that the origin planes can be aligned nicely. You can go to Dynamic Simulation environment and see how it works.

Many thanks!
