Hello.

Can someone enlighten me as to the correct settings that will tell Inventor 2024 to auto-miter these corners?

I apologize if this has already been answered. My search was not fruitful.

TIA

hi!

Things will need space to happen.

0.2 is not a big gap, and in real world, that gap will be filled, since the material will expand in that area.

also... you need to add the chamfer to avoid material overlap. as you can see in the flat pattern...

Thank you for the response.

I know how to do the workaround you show, having done it before. However, needing to go through 5 extra steps seems unnecessary and inefficient. I was hoping that there was a way to get Inventor to do this automatically.

Thank you for illustrating your approach. I have used this previously, as well. It is the same issue, though. Extra steps to create the flanges and miters, when it seems that this could be addressed more efficiently when adding the flanges.

It would have saved me some time if you had mentioned that in your original problem description.

If you will reread the 1st line in my post, as well as my response to @carlos.carreiras you will see that I am looking for a way to get Inventor to "Auto-Miter" the corners. That's it. I did not ask how to get the model to generate a flat pattern, although I appreciate the responses and the extra mile contributors go to help fellow users.

Many thanks to you both.
