Sharing Models with a Viewer for non technical staff

Hello,

I'm looking for options to share models with people that are not Inventor users and do not have DWF viewing capabilities. 3D PDFs seem to be too large in file size and have "trust" issues on the 3D content when you first open them. A360 works but without paying for the full service we are very limited to the number of files that can be uploaded. Does anyone have suggestions on a workflow or process to share models with a viewer available to anyone?

Thanks!

Inventor 2020 has a new feature called read-only mode..   But not sure if these non-tech staff are using machines or mobile devices for review.

Prior to the 2020 release (and including 2020), you could installed Inventor view which is a free Inventor viewer.  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/troubleshooting/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-inve...

My past experience has shown that Inventor Viewer solution would bring a "business (regular/not so powerful)" computer to its knees when attempting to open/view native Inventor files..

Not sure how/if 2020 read only mode helps there but I kind of doubt it..

"seems" shared views functionality is the direction Autodesk is going (this week) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/learn-explore/caas/video/youtube/watch-v-Kq...

Time to submit a support ticket IMO..  Or post your dataset (zip up all files) here if you can share it publicly so others/Autodesk staff can look into it..

I recommend that you investigate

https://viewer.autodesk.com/

reads many types of files and does not require installation of any software.

(Does require internet access though.)

I think thats what "Shared Views" does/uses.. Just uploads them there?  Yes.. Confirmed.. That is where Shared Views puts the files...

But yes.. If doing it directly from Inventor isn't working for them they could simply upload the files directly there..

Worked well with the tests I just did.. Neat tool..

You can also try  https://3dpackages.com/, you will need a forge account, but then you will be able to upload and share with anyone, no software install needed
