I need to send a customer a large CAD model of a product that I am building for them so that he can use it in his building layout. How should I do this without giving away all my engineering data?

Save the assembly as a part (combine everything) and export to STEP.

You can remove/hide most components before save.  Use View Rep.

Building layout only need overall size and mounting location.

Create a new part, derive the assembly into the part.

Sometimes you just need a good old reboot.

Hi! Do you just want to share some geometry but not the assembly structure? What format does he need?

Many thanks!
