Hello Guys,

I've a client that wants to cut the shapes on the render image of this christmas tree.

Having a cone drawned in inventor it's easy, but how can I have those shapes to contour the cone and then have then flattern so that I can send them to laser cut?

Q1. What version of Inventor are you using?

Hi! There are multiple ways to do this. You can create a workplane tangent to the cone. Create a sketch and draw the curves. Next, project the curves to 3D Sketch (wrap around). Split the cone face using the 3D curves.

Or, you can use a Sheet Metal part. Create a Contour Roll using an angled line revolving a vertical line. Unfold it and create the 2D curves. Split the planar face using the 2D curves. Lastly refold it back.

Many thanks!
