Set the Tweak Direction to "World" by Default

All,

Good evening!  Every time that I create a tweak in the Inventor presentation environment, the direction is set to "Local" and I'm curious if there is a way to set the tweak direction to be "World" by default?  If I'm being unclear or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thanks in advance for any assistance, hope all is well and have a most blessed day!

Peace,

Pete

Hi Pete,

Long time no see! Unfortunately, it looks like a hard coded default. I could be wrong but I am not aware of a setting to change it. I will check with the project team and see if there is a way to do that.

Many thanks!

Hello Pete,

Currently Presentation didn't remember the last selection when launch Tweak command. For now it only keeps in Tweak command if you perform continues tweak and do not terminate Tweak command. We'll report this issue to development team and try to fix it in the future.

The same goes for the "part / component" selection box and the "full trail / trail segment" selection box, please report those as well.

Hello, @petestrycharske@-niels-

I want to get more information about this requirement. Do you want to keep the selected option in currently Inventor session which means the selection will be set back after restart Inventor, or cross Inventor session which means keep the selection even after restart Inventor? And would you mind also submit ting the request to Idea Station that we could collect others vote to better prioritize it.

@rachel_li, personally i don't mind too much if it's session length or persistent.

Ofcourse having the option to choose your preference and keeping it persistent across sessions would be nice, but having it remember what you've set while you're working with it is what i'd expect at the least.

I don't really feel this should be on the idea station, to me it's a defect not a request for new functionality.

Hi Niels,

Thanks for your reply. It will be easier to do this within session, but if an option to persistent across sessions we'd like to prioritize for the implementation from Idea Station. Thanks for understanding.

I am having the same thing. I was quite excited when I saw this as "solved". I went to the solution and it was all like: Nothing can be done, maybe in the future we can do something. I hope we can get it sorted.

It's annoying for me because if I swap a part with another part that was modeled with a different orientation it shoots off in a 'seemingly' random direction.

Just to add to this, it would be nice to have the automatic explode when inserting an assembly. This was available in earlier Inventor releases but disappeared at some point.

Was this ever added? I don't see a setting anywhere, and it doesn't remember my selection unless I do all my tweaks at once without hitting the done button.
