How to section a isometric view?

Is it possible in inventor drawing?

Yes - it is possible.

You can have an off-sheet parent view to create an on-sheet child view.

Zip and attach your part or assembly and drawing files here if you can't figure it out.

Are you talking about something like below?  Understand doing this can give you some obscure results. 😁

PROJECT.png

EE LOGO.png
Windows 10 x64 -16GB Ram
Intel i7-6700 @ 3.41ghz
nVidia GTS 250 - 1 GB
Inventor Pro 2020

Hi! I believe you are talking about showing a sectioned component in an Isometric view, right? If yes, you can create a section view first. Then create an auxiliary view or projected view. Is this what you were looking for?

Many thanks!

No files? No reference images?

AFAIK - What you want to do is very easy to do.

I want directly section in iso view (No need any ref. views) and i don't want project view. However we do section in .ipt & .iam like that i need in .idw (directly section in same view).

I don't know why you would put such limitations on documenting a design, but if you cannot live with a reference view off-sheet (or on-sheet) and you don't want to cut the model directly - then the answer is no.

Hi! Indeed, like JD mentioned, such workflow (creating an iso section base view) does exist in Inventor yet.

Many thanks!

Man I swear, sometimes this software makes me want to smash my head through my screens while I bash it from behind with my keyboard.

Hi! I am sorry that Inventor does not behave as well as it should. But Inventor isn't worth your strong emotion. Could you elaborate your frustration? I would like to understand the issue better and see if there is a workflow to suggest.

Many thanks!
