Section View (change label)

Am I right in assuming that the Object Type (in the Object Defaults) for the label is defined by the Section View Line? If so how do I change the label's text color? When I change the Text Style used for that particular View Annotation (set as the Object Style), the changes reflect upon the label (Font, Text Height, Stretch) but the color does not change. How do I get Inventor 2017 to also change the color of the label and not just the font, height and width of the label?

I hope I'm making sense.

EDIT: I am aware I can change the color of the label by editing it directly, but I'm not doing this separately for every single label.

yes, the section line and text is dictated by the layer from what I can see.

Even though section line labels BB reports being on Label Text (ISO) they really take the color of "Section Line" layer color.

I have changed Label Text (ISO) to yellow and it only changed label text not section identification.

have you tried changing section line layer color?

Yes, changing the Layer color also changes the color of the View Annotation, but I'd like that View Annotation to have a different color than the Section Line itself. The View Annotation does everything I tell it to do (as defined by the Text Style used in the View Annotation style) except for the color. When I double click the View Annotation in the drawing I can see that its color is set to "By Layer" by default, how can I change that default setting without manually editing every single View Annotation? Is there a CVAR for this default setting, by any chance?

Thanks for the quick reply nonetheless 🙂

It is hard coded from what I can see and you need to manually edit every single label but let's get technical support; calling @johnsonshiue

Hi Guys,

The section view identifier is coded in a way that its color is controlled by Section Line layer like the section line and leader. There isn't a separate control to change the identifier color unfortunately.

Many thanks!
