screen turns cyan when opening parts from an assembly... sometimes

Occasionally when I try to open a part from an assembly my workspace turns cyan. Usually closing and opening the part again works but does get annoying when it does this several times in a row.

This is on inventor 2022.

Hi David,

This could be graphics related. Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and graphics driver is updated.

Many thanks!

I have been through and updated my GPU driver today however it is still doing this occasionally. Another thing that has changed since updating from Inventor 2021 is that line weights in drawings seem to be varied. Like some lines will look very thick and others very thin. The drawing when printed looks fine though. Could this also be graphics-related?

Hi David,

Indeed, it could be graphics related. Please make sure you set the graphics behavior (AMD or Nvidia) to less aggressive, non gaming oriented.

Many thanks!

I have this same problem, and keep my graphics system updated.  I have a Radeon Pro W9100 16gb beast, which has never shown problems like this before.  Its an inventor graphics engine problem.  Even software mode doesn't solve the issue.  Please address and fix.  If you need my help testing for it, I'd be glad to offer.

Hi Jamie,

One thing I would like you to try is to change Hardware setting to Conservative (Tools -> App Options -> Hardware). Does it work better now?

Many thanks!

Yea, I tried all 4 settings, and none of them changed the screen color.  Only when I closed Inventor did it stop.  The other post about resizing the screen, I will try next.

Hi! What is the screen resolution and DPI setting (Windows Display Settings)?

Many thanks!

I am using a pair of BenQ BL2710s set to QHD resolution (2.5k x1.4k).  I have inventor maximized on the left primary monitor only, so the right one is not displaying any inventor elements.  I have my floating palettes all docked with the browser on the left of the screen.

Hi Jamie,

While we are still investigating the issue, the cyan color seems to be the transition color when Display setting is changed. I could be wrong but I cannot think of any reason Inventor shows that color. There is no option or no code doing that.

Many thanks!

Hi! Just an update on this issue. The project team is able to reproduce the behavior using AMD card. It seems to be specific to AMD. We don't know the cause yet. It has been reported as INVGEN-53947 in the meantime.

Many thanks!

Yeah, I am also still getting this problem fairly regularly. I also have AMD GPU.

Just chiming in to say that I've also been experiencing this issue. It has been happening since INV 2021, (possible 2020 but I don't remember exactly).

Funny enough, I tried to use the autodesk screen capture software and when it loaded it said "Your current settings are not an optimal recording ratio, would you like to change?"

When I hit "yes", it resized my inventor window and the problem went away. This is when I realized that it only happens in full screen. When I switched back and forth to full screen, the problem would reproduce, but not in the "restored down" window.

You guessed it, yes, I do have an AMD card. I am using a Vega64.

Just to throw in another problem that I know crosses both AMD and Nvidia, is when Inventor is full screen, but a few pixels leak over to your second monitor. This can be fixed by directly snapping it to your monitor. (Drag the window all the way to the top of the screen until it "snaps")
I remember this issue being at least a few iterations old, possibly back to 2019. I'm the only AMD guy in my office, everyone else has NVIDIA. We all share this second problem, but not the first. The second issue has only been tested on 27" and 24" 16:9 monitors
