Scaling in Inventor

Hi

We are looking for a way to scale a model in Inventor Pro 2020 to ex 1:5, but where some dimensions not are scaled down.

We want to 3D print our models in a scale format (ex 1:5), but when we scale sheet metal parts, the thickness of the plate is going to be way to thin

Is it possible to scale a part (or assembly), but lock some of the parameters (ex. the thickness of the plate)?

Normally we are using the Derived command for Scaling, but I cannot find a "work around"

I have attached an example.

Scale using Derived and then Thicken the thin sheet as needed before printing.

Hi! Yes, this can be done within the same part also. Use Direct Edit -> Body -> Scale to rescale the entire body. Flat Pattern will fail due to thickness inconsistency for a moment. Then use Thicken/Offset -> uncheck Auto-Blending -> Intersect -> pick the outside face -> direction = inward -> distance = Thickness.

You will get the correct body thickness back.

Many thanks!
