Save standard iPart members in same directory as factory iPart?

Everytime I create a standard iPart member from its factory, say something like

C:\stuff\myiPart.ipt

the default save directory is a subdirectory with the iPart factory name:

C:\stuff\myiPart\myiPartMember.ipt

is it possible to avoid this, and to save the created iPart in the same directory as the iPart factory?

Unfortunately, it seems impossible right now. Maybe Pack & Go can make the hierarchy more flatten.

Close Inventor.
Execute regedit.exe in a command line.
Go to ->HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersionxx.0\System\Preferences\Catalog\

(Please note, "Catalog" may not exist; create one manually)
Add a DWORD, "FlatStructure" and set the value to 1.
Restart Inventor.

It should work.

Thank you John! Unfortunately that's kinda hacky and I don't think IT is going to accept working with all the network pc's regedits (those are parts that will be shared on the vault). I hope Inventor will implement it as an option in the part settings!

Hi Francesco,

Indeed, this is a hack. iPart was designed to have sub folder structure. This particular setting was added a few years later after iPart workflows were introduced. If this is something you want to have in Inventor, please submit an idea on Ideas forum and let other users vote for it. The ideas are being actively reviewed on a daily basis.
