Save is not allowed

I'm using Inventor Professional 2021 with Vault Professional 2021  I'm logged in as "B. BARBOUR" and the file is checked out to me according to my browser.  However, when I attempt to save and close I get "File is checked out by P. ROMAN.  Save is not allowed."

Vault Client also shows I have the file checked out.Vault.jpg

I also have 4 of the 5 iPart members checked out according to Vault Client...

I clicked the refresh button in both Inventor and in Vault client and "B. BARBOUR" and not "P. ROMAN" has the files checked out so why does it keep telling me "P. ROMAN" has them check out and won't let me save?  How do I proceed beyond this road block?

Do you have more then one login?  Say a regular Client and one as an administrator login?

Thinking the Browser shows one of them and your Inventor shows the other one.

If worse comes to worse, if you have an admin account, go into the Vault and force the check out of these files then start over making sure both the Inventor and Client sessions are in the same login user.

I'm logged into both Inventor and Vault as "B. BARBOUR."  "P. ROMAN" is a different user.  I don't and can't login as him because I don't know his password.  I'll try logging in as the Administrator to force check out as you suggest.

How do I force the check out as you suggest?

I attempted File>File Control>Remove Reservation in Vault and it only removed my (B. BARBOUR) reservation.  It did not fix the confusion that "P. ROMAN" has it check out.  I still get that error when I try to check it out and save my work.

Log into your vault as an administrator.  Go under the file menu>File Control, select "Remove File Reservation"

Do you know this individual to talk to them about their ownership of these files?  If nothing else works, I would restart your PC and the Vault server.

If you find the file in Vault and then right click on it and go to "Details" does its file status show its checked out to that user?

The status is checked out to me...

I don't know about "ownership," but I am the creator.  I have full permissions in security...

I spoke with P. ROMAN and he sees the same thing I do, that I (B. BARBOUR) have it checked out.

Then I would do as I suggested in my last posting.  Restart the Vault Server.

Rebooting is not a good solution because even if it works, I loose my work and  it doesn't explain the problem.  Anyway, I rebooted the Vault server and I rebooted my computer per your suggestion.  After the reboot, I reopened Inventor and logged into Vault.  The home screen show that I (B. BARBOUR) have the part checked out.

However, after I make my first edit to the part, I get the following error message stating the file is checked out to P. ROMAN and not me.

This makes zero sense!

I believe this might be a migration issue.  This is a very old file.  As I run migrations, I've gotten many errors on so many files, it'd take me a month to go through and fix them all so I at least get the files I can which is most of them.  I made my changes and did a "save as" and then did a "save as" again to overwrite the local file.  Then I was able to save my work and check it in.
