Routing system problem

Dear Expert,

I have duplicate the family B (see red arrow) to A (see green arrow), I have changed only the "part number" in family A. All the others columns are the sames.

But I can't replace the member of the family B with the member of the family A.

You could see in the picture, no member of the family A are available for selection.

Could you help me please.

Thanks

Hello and welcome!

Can you check to make sure that all of the same sizes are available in "A" as in "B", and that the unit string is the same on both?  Also, try to removed the 45° elbow completely, and then try to add the new one from "A"... does that make a difference?  Are all end treatments the same between the elbows and the pipe?

Thanks for your answer, nothing change, even I remove elbow 45°.

Below the 2 family in CC.

These pipe styles are in "piping runs.iam" or in another DB?

Ambrosi:

I hope I am understanding you correctly.

Since it seems like you are unable to select parts outside of "B", have you tried editing "B" via spreadsheet and adding a new table row with the part features that you want? From the sound of it all you want is an additional part number option, you could just copy-paste the data from the preexisting Row 1 into a new row and then change the "HTPartNumber" in the new row. That should then add it as a selectable part in "B" and you would not need to even have the "A" variant. Hope this helps!

Hi @ambrosiPZ23D

I think this is how it works but could be wrong, generally the filtering of the fittings is controlled by the pipe diameter (dn/nd)the first item added. Adding additional families after the pipe has been added might not allow the fittings to be available for selection. Can you try create a brand new style and add the pipe again and see is the new family visible in the filter list? If not there might be issues with your family. For this issue Does your new family have an nd/dn column of that given size to match the pipe? To check this go to the pipe find the dn/nd column and check the internal  column name. This must match for pipe and fitting. Having the column display name match I dont think is enough as that can be user changed.

If it is not proprietary or secret, can you use Pack and Go on your assembly where you are trying to make this change, and then share the ZIP file here?  It might help for us to be able to look at your dataset.  Be sure to include all libraries in the Pack and Go so we have the content center parts you are working with.

Do you need to replace this new elbow as the standard, or just this one spot in your line?
