Rotate a Drawing Sheet

Can I rotate a drawing sheet in inventor? I started in portrait, made a sketch and added text, and now want to rotate my sheet and continue my work in landscape. Is this possible?

Hi @Anonymous

Sure you can.

Right click on your sheet and select "modify the sheet"

Then you can modify sheet size and orientation :

If i just modify the sheet, the sketch doesn't rotate with it.

You're right, sketch and sheet are not the same.

To rotate your sketch, you need the same command than in part model.

So edit your sketch and select the rotate command :

Some constraint will be loose...you will need to re-constraint.

That is because, technically, Thomas's instructions are not rotating the sheet at all.  They are changing the paper size.

I don't believe there is a way to actually rotate the sheet and its contents.  If your sketch had been created in a Draft View, then you could use the "Rotate" command on the view just like you could with a model view.  With it just being a sketch on the drawing sheet, you wouldn't really have much choice other than the process he already described for rotating the geometry in the sketch.
