Rolling a sheet Metal to be bolted

I am new in using sheet metal. So far i am able to form a cylinder made out of  sheet metal and i am able to unfold it.The only problem is i want the two ends of the flat sheet to overlap so that it can be bolted together like a lap joint orientation .Is there anyone that has any suggestions how to perform this function using metal sheet ipt?

Regards

Didi

Hi Stuart,

Would that model be acceptable for your needs? Please see the attached IV2010 file.

Regards,

Igor.

Hi

I'm trying to do exactly this too but when I go to Flat Pattern it doesnt flatten the cone.

Any help would be really appreciated as ( appearing ) not to be able to add a flange to a cone with a Contour Roll is really frustrating.

Hi

Thanks for the quick response.

That's not quite what I had in mind as I really wanted to get the sheet metal joggle on the edge, but it has prompted some thoughts and I can see how your process.

I'll try to have a look at it later today....hopefully and report back.

Many thanks

Stuart
