Hi, im trying to rip a funnel cone with a straight part on the top, as i want this to be the mergin face towards another part. But the Rip is not working, i can only rip the top part (straight part) not the bottom. And i want to achive this so i can flatten the part and send it to the sheet metal shop

Hi!

If you are in sheet metal design, you have to use sheet metal tools to create the part (if you want to use rip, flat pattern and other tipical sheet metal tasksl)

You cannot use solid loft, shell, etc, because you will distort some sheet metal concepts.

Example:

using solid loft:

Using Sheet metal roll:

Here is a video how to do it:

Anyway... the flat pattern that this geometry output, is not the correct one for production.

To achieve the proper flat pattern for these kind of geometry, you have to do some extra work.
If you really need the fat pattern just ask and we can help.
