Revolve ... but not quite.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to recreate just the engine part of a Tie Fighter (It's being used as a prop for something else.) Attached is an image of what my current model is like, and what the design file looks like. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to revolve the piece circled in the image. Any suggestions?

Possibly use the Emboss to produce the raised shape. You would need to delete the large raised portion on your model first, or use the Emboss to etch down the end portion profile.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Attach actual *.ipt file here.

You could use either Embosss as suggested

or

Extrude between offset surface

or

Extrude and then Split with offset surface.

I've used emboss before, but that was on a flat surface. This is curved, and angled. I'm not quite sure how to do that. Current hodge-podge file is attached.

Ok, thanks for that. I'm not sure I can tell what the difference is between the two. But if I understand correctly what you did, you created a work plane that's right on the edge of the feature that I created. Then you drew the shapes, then proceeded to Emboss them the same depth as the revolved feature (1.5mm). Correct?
