Retrieve dimensions Inventor 2019

I just installed 2019 and noticed a problem on dimensioning sheetmetal parts in drawing mode

I often use "Retrieve model annotations" but now the flange length do not appear in this function

For instance this part in picture are almost impossible to manually place dimensions correct

Onestly Inventor are really bad on placing inventor in this type of simple sheet metal profiles

Or how should I do it?

 @Mustang69

 This new issue you are seeing is not the same issue.

The flange on the bottom is a 2 flange pick with one feature.

Flange3 is 2 flanges Inventor will only auto dimension the 1st pick, this has been asked to be fixed for a long long time.

 My suggestion is to make 1 flange per feature and use parameters to drive like flanges.

I agree they need a better way to dimension none 90° flanges.

Ofcourse it is the same issue.

The issue is that Inventor are not capable to place the most simple dimension either manually or by "Retrieve dimension"

No one should have to think of of a "special workflow" when placing flanges....That will fail when you start edit the design

Maybe Inventor are for the 90 degrees designers! 🙂

@Mustang69

 I say it is not the same issue because inventor only puts dimensions on the 1st flange picked so there is no dimensions to retrieve.

 So they would have to address that to make it work.

You are using Inventor everything has a "special workflow" Smiley LOL

I agree they need a better way I was just trying to help you get it to work till they figure it out, it may take years for them I am still waiting on iMates to work right.

Sheet metal needs lots of work still but they felt changing the interface was more important then working features and tools to make our job faster.

Hi Guys,

Although the workflows are different, the issues are related. It is indeed fixed in 2019.2. You may need to do a Rebuild All in the part so the dimensions can be retrieved properly (graphics window and drawing view).

Many thanks!
