Replace IDW Model References per Model State between Assys

I have a model (named Model A6) with 8 different Model States created to show various stages of a build.  Subsequently, I've created an 8-sheet drawing named A6 to match (one Model State per sheet).

Now I have a second assembly (named Model A8) also with 8 similar Model States created to show the various stages of its build.

I want to take my drawing A6 and save it as drawing A8 where I now want to swap in the new model A8 through the Replace Model Reference function to properly populate the A8 drawing.

Is there a way to swap in the different A8 Model States equally to the new drawing A8?  The two drawing will be similar in format, views, and BOMs.  Right now, it looks like I have to swap in 1 Model State at a time to achieve this.

Hi! If I understand your request correctly, I believe those Model References need to be reselected individually. It is because each Model State is considered a different source "doc" (model reference).

Many thanks!

Thanks for the reply, Johnson.

I believe you're right in saying each MS must be swapped out individually.  I saw no other way to make the new assembly's 8 models states swap into the new drawing in one function.

Personally, I think the Replace Model Reference window is a great place to incorporate a Model States pull-down menu AND a Representations pull-down menu, instead of having to go back to the assembly model 8 different times to activate those attributes...
