Repeating slots

Hi,

Is there a way of creating a part for frame generator that automatically inserts slots down the length of the profile at given separation?

Example: a standard 100 x 100 SHS that has a 50 x 50 opening in one side down whatever length is generated at 100mm pitch.

Thanks in advance

I haven't tried it yet, but my first thought would be to set up a pattern in the part file as a function of length that way it would auto-adjust. Should work in a CC part, it'd be worth a shot trying it in frame generator. Hope this helps!

Yes, this is absolutely doable.  The attached part (2020 format) is one example, authored for Content Library, and here's an image of it used in a Frame Generator assembly:

Of course, hole/slot locations are always identical relative to one end of the piece and therefore don't reflect random cuts as one would typically find in an actual assembly.  But in cases where it really matters, you could individually edit that piece and adjust the starting location as needed.
