Rendering problems: section view

Hello,

I try to render an assembly in section view. A few areas are shown correct in the rendered picture. But some are invisible.

Does anyone know how i can fix that?

Hello @Anonymous,

This is a known problem and addressed by ticket INVGEN-12465 inside.

How about leverage the section view rendering in presentation environment?

Hope it helps!

I see bolts, elements that are interfering by default. Visuals don't like interfering elements. Does it work if you replace with non-interfering parts ?

No, that doesn't work. In some views you can see through the right inner bearing ring. In other views like here it is visible.

The Inventor Presentation environment is another file where you can create animations and/or exploded views to help document your assemblies.

You might have better luck if you create an assembly-cut feature to get your section view.  That should not have the gap in the surface that you are seeing with the section-view tool.

If you don't want a bunch of assembly cuts in your design assembly, create a "rendering" assembly.  The rendering assembly has your design assembly as its only component.  Define all your cuts, lighting, etc in the rendering assembly and keep your design assembly uncluttered.

Hello, I'm having the same problem with section views not capping solids in rendered views. Has this issue been fixed yet?

Hi Tim,

I could be wrong but I vaguely remember a similar issue got fixed in one of the updates. What Inventor release are you on? Have you applied all the applicable updates?

Many thanks!
