Refining the mesh used in the Unwrap tool

Hello,

I'm using the unwrap tool to produce a flat pattern for a curved component in a model I've been making (see below). It works great however the mesh is not as fine as I would like it to be. Is there anyway to change the properties of the generated mesh?

Hi! The short answer is no. There is no user control over the mesh size or density unfortunately..

Many thanks!

Thanks for the quick response!

Is there any other way to handle this problem? The unwrap tool is perfect for this situation it is just to imprecise.

This may not be an answer, but there is a download for meshmixer. I'm not sure if it allows what you're looking to do.

You might wind up with a lot of roundtripping to get something useful. I've not used it.
