I am trying to pattern rectangular hole with a specified number of holes over a selected distance for them to occur within and the holes are not patterning correctly. I had to sketch each feature out and do the math to divide them into the space. the distance option does not seem to be working in the way I have seen in all the tutorials.

Hi

Unfortunately, we cannot conclude or suggest anything based on such a description.

  1. Attach your file.
  2. Describe what the problem is.
  3. Sketch the expected effect.

Hi!

I guess you have to select Distance instead of Spacing:

Pattern over a distance is only applicable in the part modelling environment.

Does not work while working in assemblies or sketchs

According to the tutorials with the distance option it should divide the selected distance evenly with the feature I have selected.

It works very well.

The distance is counted between similar characteristic points, not between the beginning of the first and the end of the last instance.

So you need to draw a sketch that will contain a line with parameterized lengths (length of the board side - width of the cutout - 2x distance of the cutout from the edge of the board).
