Rectangular pattern doesn't follow path

Trying to make a cog belt, but the cogs won't follow the path of the belt.  The loop is closed in sketch mode.

Thank you for your answer, I will accept it as a solution. 

Although screen casts have their uses, the crucial point could be briefly expressed:

To pattern on a path, right-click the path and use Select Other, Curve to select the path.

I would never have guessed this without your help.  Perhaps a note could be added to the Tooltip.

I understand that screencasts allow you to answer more questions, more quickly, which is much appreciated!

Yes you need to select other, and select the correct path you want.

Thank You for the video. Clicking the insert button is what made my patterns deviate from the path.
