ReCap scan data in Inventor drawing

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to import raw Recap scan data into Inventor and then combine this with an existing 3D parametric model with the end aim being to display both overlayed on one another in a 2D drawing output?

I think I already know how to import the scan data into Inventor, and I have a 3D model already modeled. It is the next steps I do not know:

- Combining scan data and an existing 3D model (in the same assembly)

- Producing a 2D drawing showing both scan data and 3D model overlayed on one another

Help and guidance would be much appreciated.

Hi Ben,

Why not just export to 3D PDF directly from your model?

Cheers

Jon.

Hi Ben,

As far as combining the scanned data and 3D data, that maybe more challenging, depending on the complexity of the model.

It would be difficult to know how much detail you would be able to show and you may get a performance hit if the data is complex.

Cheers

Jon.
