RCS point cloud ot showing correctly in Inventor???

Hi,

Can anyone help me please.

I converted rcp file to rcs file in recap to be used in inventor. But when i insert the rcs point cloud in inventor it shows limited horizontal and vertical series of point only, not point cloud as I expect it to be. I tried importing rcp file in inventor and it shows the same result.

Is this something to do with settings during conversion? see below:

Hi,

I don't think there's anything wrong with your cloud.

That looks like the effect some programs have on a cloud with large coordinates, due to truncation of the coordinate values.

Is it possible to use a local coordinate system for that particular project?

Or mavbe you can just import the cloud at origo, and model from there, and later revert to the original coordinate system.

Also, you don't have to convert your Rcp-project to a rcs-file to work in Inventor.
If you import your ReCap Project file (.rcp) instead, you can make use of your created regions in recap by using the "Navigator" under Manage/Point Cloud, and just show that part/region you are modelling at the time, to speed up Inventors point cloud handling.

Hi! Did you post the same question repeatedly? Did you take a look at the reply to your prior posting?

Many thanks!
