random dots in Inventor parts

When I edit parts in the VEX kit of parts, sometimes I get these things. I don't know what they are or how to get rid of them. It messes up the whole part because it Inventor thinks it is part of the piece.

They typically appear when I am "cutting" parts with sketches and extrusions.

Without looking at the files it's pretty tough to tell.

Those are not random dots.  They are the projected Center Point in a visible sketch on the angled end piece in your assembly (you have two occurrences of it).  If you look carefully, you can also see some visible sketch dimensions.

To get rid of them, open the part and turn off visibility of that sketch, then save the part and close it.

Are you referring to the yellow work points

or

are you referring to the white iMate glyphs?

Or are you referring to autoprojected geometry?

Your instructor should be able to point you in the right direction to turn those off.

If you can't figure it out - attach the *.ipt file here.
