"Spiral" section cut help

Hey guys. I've done a few searches but haven't come across an issue quite like this.

If you take a look at the attached screenshots, I've got a model of an assembly that has nozzles/flanges spiraling down the outside of a cylinder.

I'm being asked to recreate a view similar to that of the second attached image. The idea is that it shows all the nozzles on the 'top' of the cylinder, showing their linear distance down the cylinder.

I've spent some time fiddling with this and I can't seem to get it to look how I want. Any suggestions?

Short of creating a separate IAM file or possibly a Positional View depending on how the nozzles are constrained.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Could be possible like that with MBPs and Designviews:

Problem: Mass isn't ok. Perhaps the dummy steps should be only surfaces.

2017 file attached.

 Later: That's the surface look.
