"Error loading segment designview segment in database inventor autodesk"

Hello,

Today I copied a part inside Vault, and after modificating and saving it I tried to open it again. The messages "The current operation requires data from document X:\Workspace\Projects\Designs\Inventor\Parts\C0007638.ipt, but it cannot be found. The document may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. The operation must either be aborted or the file located." and "Error loading segment designview segment in database inventor autodesk..." appeared.

The file was in the right place with the right name. Before going looking for an answer, I thought that since Inventor was looking for the C0007638.ipt file and in the folder there was no extencion appearing, that was the problem (ignoring that windows ocults it). So I put a .ipt as part of the file name (C0007638.ipt.ipt) and the Inventor recognized it and opened it perfectly. But it only works with the second .ipt at the end.

After it I came here to look for an answer and found a post (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Users....) saying that the better option is to just restore the latest version.

I'm going to do it, I just wanted to know if you guys have any comments about this situation. Apparently the file isn't corrupted, it's just a matter of file name.

Update: I just restarted the whole process from Vault and ended up happening the same thing.

Hi! Likely the file is corrupted. Somehow the Design View segment cannot be loaded. Do you have the backup files? If you find out how to reproduce the corruption, please let us know asap. It will be very helpful to finding a fix.

Many thanks!

Hi! The error message only indicates the symptom but it does not identify the source of the problem. Basically, the file is corrupted for some reason. If you can find the steps to reproduce the corruption, please let us know asap.

Many thanks!

I had to close the entire Inventor application and then it worked...probably kept the 'old version' stuck in memory or something eh.
