"Batch Process" to export part files from STEP assembly

I have a STEP containing an assembly with I think >1k parts. Some are obviously multiple instances of the same part. Is there a way, maybe with Task Scheduler, to save each unique part as a separate file? Optimally it would also make a new assembly with references, but even multiple part files would be helpful.

The standard import process allows you to save each component (and part) as a separate file. However, if the individual components (or parts) have different names (as I see at a glance here, Fan Grill A is probably the same geometry as Fan Grill B), you don't really have an automated way to merge them unless you use the Vault's Duplicate Search feature.

You could also consider an import as multi body part first, so you can create a new assembly/ parts based on the solids you select. To create a multi body part from a step file, you first need to start a new part, then use import to import the step geometry.
