Question: iLogic Design Copy vs. Vault Copy Design

We are only using Vault Basic, yet I'm looking to understand the differences between using the iLogic Design Copy command in Inventor versus executing the Copy Design option in Vault.

For the record, the items being replicated in each command instances do have iLogic applied to the parts/assemblies.

What I do prefer about the iLogic Copy Design command is the ability to select folders and have those items copy over to the new destination.

Yet, the limitation I'm seeing is that I'm not able to view this newly created working folder in Vault.  It appears that one command is meant for one environment (Inventor) and one for the other (Vault).

I'm just seeking clarity regarding both and when one is preferred over the other.

If this question is better suited for the Vault Forum, please let me know and I'll chase the answer down there.

Thank you.

I use Vault copy design over ilogic design copy. This allows me to build vault structure during the copy process, replace, reuse, etc. I know the processes are similar, but I believe you would either use "Design Assistant" or iLogic Design Copy" if you are NOT utilizing vault.

Perfect.  That was what I was thinking, yet needed confirmation.  Thank you.
