Propeller loft

Hi,

I've have a few problems with drawning a propeller in Inventor. With another program(openprop) I've created many points to draw a propeller. I put those points in inventor with ImportExcelPoints macro. I thought to use a loft and then a circular pattern to copy the blad to a 2-bladed propeller.

When I use loft, only the surface-loft is available. With this loft it isn't possible to have a correct pattern. The error message: 'It's not a meaningful result' is showed.

Is there anything possible to fix this problem.

All the imported points came from an  excell-files.

Thank you for the fast answer.

I've a question how you do it.

In your browser, it's shows you used stitch. How did you do that? I've have tried but i can't change the surcafe into a solid part.

Hi!

First of all, i think that you will have better surfaces if you unite the points with splines instead of lines.

You can't move from surface to solid because you have to stitch the 3 surfaces to make one solid... furthermore , there's a surface that doesn't close well, so you have to make another patch after the first stitch, then you can make another stitch, the final stitch.

In the file i sent you in the tread above (not this one in the video), i also worked a little in the surface construction environment to try to have better surfaces, but i bet you can have better propeller in you use splines.

In 2014 the Inventor Worldcup,had a boat propeller challenge. I did it using a coil and fillets.
