Project Geometry

This is a YouTube tutorial. I wish to know why author is using Project Geometry (PG). Because I was able to sweep without PG.

By "Projecting Geometry, this allows for a "grounding/constraining point for the sketch. Yes you can perform the Sweep operation but the sketches are fully constrained to each other.

Much like fully constraining a sketch for an extrusion, you can create the object but it's not a stable model that won't accidentally change and become unstable.

He did the PG on the end of the line ...because it created a point for him ..

if you look close at the end of the line in the video, there now is a point symbol for him to place the circle on / constrain to ...   yes you can create a circle and sweep, but it's not probably contrained to the line like the video's is

Once again, attach your file here with the Sweep feature without PG and I will create video showing you why it should not be done that way.

See you don't have a point on the end to constrain to ...so you can move the circle sketch

project sketch at the end of the line and you can constain the circle to it ....

If you constrain the circle to the spline (with Project Geometry of the endpoint and Coincident constraint of the endpoint to the centerpoint) you can move the spline around as needed to accomplish the design intent.

(In your second file T1 - the second sketch is missing dimensions.  I would have stopped right there.  Without dimensions the part cannot be made.  There is no logical point in designing  or learning to design if the design cannot be manufactured.)  There is another more appropriate field of study for this type of design called - Art.

The fields of study of Art, Industrial Design and Mechanical Design can be closely related, but the student should be careful to choose the appropriate field of study matching their aptitudes.

I followed YouTube tutorial in creating T1 file therefore I don't have any clue beyond what was given in the tutorial.

You should not assume that anyone on YouTube (or here on this forum, or in a book) knows what they are doing.

By this stage you should be taking the initiative to improve upon what you find on YouTube using what you have learned about robust design techniques.
