Problems setting dimensions in Inventor 2017

Not applicable
Hi I'm Very Very new and I was watching an online tutorial for Inventor and I'm trying to make a Box and set its dimensions before I extrude it. Now I installed all the updates to Inventor 2017 and for some reason it just jumps straight to the extrude. I also Installed a trial version of Woodworking with Inventor. Please help me figure out what if anything I did wrong so I can fix it and restore it to how it should work.

Hi @Anonymous,

and welcome to the Community Smiley Happy

It is very difficult to guess what you are doing. Usually when you use the "Box" you will be asked for the sketchplane and then you create the 2D-sketch, dimension it and the extrusion is applied after that.

Could you upload a Screencast with your steps?

Regards

If you use the function "Body", you can not immediately click on it after you have set the center point.
Enter your values first. From an input to the next, you will change to the TAB key.

The assistant then immediately goes into the extrusion.

You can also start a 2D sketch and draw your rectangle there. Then follow the sketch for extrusion.
