Problems opening Solidworks files.

The engineering department here has updated Solidworks to its latest version, and now the latest version of Inventor wont open the files. Inventor gives me a prompt to download the latest Inventor, and I have the latest version...What can be done about this?

It may be that someone with access to the Solidworks files natively will need to export them as an earlier version so that Inventor will open them.  The newest version of SW is probably being seen as newer than the latest IV version... hard sometimes to keep them in sync.

The rule of thumb here used to be that what ever version of Inventor you are using, you can usually open up one SW version behind Inventor, up until the last Inventor service pack applied to any version.  That last SP update usually takes care of allowing Inventor to open "the same version" of SW - as long as the companies keep using the year as a version number indicator.

Hi! The latest SWX file import support is usually on the coming Inventor release and the .3 update for the current release. It should be available soon.

Do we have any idea as to when the .3 version is suppose to release? As of right now, I can't open any files from my engineering dept., and it is hindering work BADLY.

No I havent, I was waiting until CAM Ultimate 2024 comes out.
