Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the application of the finish surface in my files.
This year, I started applying the finish tool to welding IAM files that require painting as a post-process or to IPT files that need other post-processes.
I changed the parameters for finish specifications in the finish.xml file, and I inserted the code below:
<Type Id="PaintColor">
<!-- DO NOT TRANSLATE -->
<Process Name="RAL7016">
<!-- DO NOT TRANSLATE -->
<Appearance>RAL7016</Appearance>
<!-- DO NOT TRANSLATE -->
<Description>RAL7016</Description>
<ShortDescription>RAL7016</ShortDescription>
<Thickness>50 micrón</Thickness>
<Comment/>
</Process>
<Process Name="RAL1018">
<!-- DO NOT TRANSLATE -->
<Appearance>RAL1018</Appearance>
<!-- DO NOT TRANSLATE -->
<Description>RAL1018</Description>
<ShortDescription>RAL1018</ShortDescription>
<Thickness>50 micrón</Thickness>
<Comment/>
</Process>
</Type>
In this case, the RAL appearance is the same RAL I have in my default appearance library.
The problem arises when I update the color of these RAL appearances in my library. When I try to update the IPT and IAM files using Manage > Update Style, the IPT files where I didn’t apply the finish tool update correctly without any problems. However, in other files, like welding IAM files where I applied the finish tool, the appearance color does not update after using "Update Style."
I don’t know how to change or update the finish appearance in the old files, but the new files work fine. Moreover, I tryed with the purge style tool , and doesnt works.
I’ve attached two images to show the difference: the first image is of the old file with the outdated color appearance, and the second image is of a new IAM file with the same IPT files, applying the finish tool with the updated color.
Thank you for your time.
Sergi Casado.
