Problem with Teamcenter integration

Has anyone run in to this error?

2020-01-16_9-40-37.png

This appears always when I save silent in Inventor. Also with other computers and net accesses. My other models work fine, only this one has this error.

This also forces Teamcenter attribute net weight value to 0. Otherwise I could just ignore this. Any tips? Is there some weird setting in my model that is set to 0?

Thank you if you have time to take a look at this!!

Shouldn't you be asking this with the Teamcenter support team?  https://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/global/en/support/

Teamcenter is not an Autodesk application so it wouldn't be supported here.   Perhaps another user who has this combo will come along and provide a solution but it may be a while before that happens.  😁

Yes Mark, I added this question to Siemens Board (https://community.sw.siemens.com/s/) too 🙂 I just thought that if some has had same issue. I'm not sure if the problem is in Teamcenter attributes, the integration between Inventor and Teamcenter or in Inventor settings.

Suvi,

You may think this is a silly question, but I've run into this myself.

You are not, in any way running both Team Center and Autodesk Vault, correct?

Yes, I had a client that was doing just that, running Team Center and Vault Workgroups and of course both apps were in essence fighting each other for control of the files. The client insisted on keeping Vault for the Copy Design process which they used daily. It was a mess. Just thought I'd ask.

Hi Jim and thank you for your reply!

I do have access to Vault, but I'm not logged in there when I work with this model. Maybe it still effects that I have it in my computer 🤔

I need to look in to that! Thanks for the tip. This model was created thru Teamcenter, so it SHOULD not effect, but I definitely have to check this!

Did your client found a way to remove the attribute info that forces this value 0 to Teamcenter? Was that coming from Vault?

Suvi,

Was the file ever in Vault at any point in its life?

Any files referenced by this file ever in Vault?

Are you still actively using Vault for your CAD files?

If so, you are going to have to decide which application you are actually going to use. You can't use them both and not expect issues. Each application is wanting control of the files, so they will be fighting each other the whole way.

What I was seeing with the client is they had been using Vault for years prior and everything was in Vault and working fine (I was the one who set their Vault system up) before upper management decided to bring in TC based on the sales pitch. Engineering used Vault's Copy Design extensively.

Once they brought in TC, the two applications were basically fighting each other to take control of the files, it was a nightmare.

This was quite a few years ago, so I take it this is still an issue and understandably so.

Older topic but it came up while searching another issue.  There's no reason vault and TC can't exist together, you just need two completely separate workspaces and separate project files for each (and the diligence to fully switch between those when needed).  We've had this in our environment for about 3 years this way without issue, since we have some users who use Vault and others who use TC.
