Problem with stuttering.

Hello!

I just installed Inventor 2019 and 2020 (student license) and I got this problem.

when I move mouse around the 2Dsketch  or 3Dmodel the framerate stutter constantly, and more if I move my mouse over sketching tools etc. I have my display showing my FPS and it goes from 165 to 2(!) and comes back up, or hovers around 50fps.

It's really annoying to do anything with this stuttering.

My computer specs are

165hz display

Ryzen 7 3700x

16gb of Ram

nvidia rtx2070 8gb

Windows 10 running on newest updates.

I just had the same problem and fixed it by updating my windows and graphics card drivers.

Updating & re-calibrating 3D Connexion devices may also resolve this.

updating graphics drivers / windows did not help. And I do not have any 3DConnexion devices, I have only keyboard, mouse and drawing tablet connected on my computer atm. 😕

Is your keyboard/mouse wireless? I ask this because I had a similar issue and resolved it by taking the wireless receiver out of the back USB port and plugging it into a front USB port. Also try updating the drivers for your keyboard, mouse and drawing tablet. Good luck.

Sometimes you just need a good old reboot.

I'd also try chipset driver and motherboard.

Mouse and keyboard are wired and I have latest drivers on chipset, gpu and so on. I just took some video of the stutter. On my screen right hand side you can see the refreshrate of my monitor.

Ok I Found the root problem for me. I have the new ryzen master installed and it has different profiles for overclocking etc. So I have had it on automatic all this time, now I just put it on manual. clock speeds to 4.2ghz and voltage to 1.35. And the stutter is gone.

Have you ran Inventor and have task manager open - just see if any spikes occur on hardware.

It did not make any spikes, CPU usage was around 20% and GPU was at 30-55%. But as I said above, I think it is the chipset drivers or something. When CPU was on automatic boost and OC it stuttered, and I think it was due to that it did not know when to boost the clock speed up. and kept the frequency low. Now that I made it keep the 4.2ghz clock speed constantly it is smooth as butter.
