hii

i want to add a custom property to my parts list but i dont know exactly how.

what  i have done is:

i have made a custom property in a part then checked the part in in the inventor vault.

after that i mapped the property with the vault and checked if it works is does.

then i opened my template and go into the styles editor i made a custom part list style and made it active

but when i want to edit the collums of the parts list i can only choose from standard propertys.

or i can make a custom one but when i do and give it the same name as the previous checked custom property

it seems like it is not mapped becouse when i insert a view of a part the property is not automatticly filled in.

can someone help me to add a custom property in the parts list wich is mapped with the parts in the vault

@T.Tomassen

Hello!  Where are you populating the value of the custom property?  In Inventor or Vault?  If you are populating it in Vault, is it already synchronized to the part before you place the view in the drawing?

Please share some screen shots of how you have your Parts List set up for the new custom property, or a short video of your workflow.  That might help the gurus here to see what is going on.  Thank you!

In Document Setting of the Drawing, pick the ipt with custom prop:

When editing your parts list, go to Column Chooser > New Property > Type in the name exactly as your custom iProperty. Place your parts list or refresh your parts list in the drawing:

Now you should be able to just go to vault Tools > Administration > Vault settings > Properties > New > Mapping tab > and go through the mapping process using the custom iproperty. Then add this to vault. You will not see it until you go to ADMS console and reindex files since you checked it in first. But, you may see the property and it will be blank in vault.

But if you go to the file then go to Edit > Edit Properties > add the custom property to the list you can edit it from vault:

Now, refresh the model in Inventor, or get the newest version and you should see the new info you placed in:

Hope that helps.
