Problem creating shell

I am having problems when trying to create a shell on the shaded face. I want the shell to be 1.5 mm thick. For some reason inventor modifies the size of the case shell (the box wall thickness increases) when I do this. Does anybody know how to create this feature?

Thanks

Daniel

Bad news here - almost everything you have done on this part is done incorreclty.
I will post corrected part later today - while I fix it for you - you might go through these suggestions-

1. Sketch1 is not constrained.  Make use of symmetry about the origin.

Fillet1 does not make sense (probably should occure before Shell1.

Sketch7 is sick (pink geometry).

Notice all of the i in circles indicating issues with the model.

Shell is global - effects every feature occuring before the shell, not just Extrusion6, but everything, the entire model.

Thank you. I have redrawn the part and its created the feature no problem. I've attached it here and would appreciate any comments on the quality of the modelling. Thank you.

That was fast, but you are still doing too much work by not making use of symmetry about the origin planes.

I noticed you are using an early version of Inventor - refer to this document instead of earlier links.
