Print Studio Error

Hello;

I seem to be having a issue.

I have a CTC 3d printer (makerbot clone) and I wish to print Thru print Studio.

The 3d print enviorment in Inventor opens and works great, but when I send it to

Print Studio I get the following message.

THERE WAS A PROBLEM CONNECTING TO THE PRINT DATABASE. SOME OF THE FUNCTIONALITY MAY

BE UNSTABLE. PLEASE CLEANUP THE PRINT DATABASE AND RELAUNCH TO APPLICATION.

So, any Ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks

Pat

Hi

Can you tell me which version of Inventor you are using?

Also, when you mention print through studio could you clarify that?

Also, have you tried creating an STL file from Inventor and using that to go to the 3D printer directly with?

He means "Print Studio".. which is a button in the 3d Print environment..

Intended as a replacement for ones 3d printer software that came with it..

Which your knowledge base says can be download at spark.autodesk.com yet its sure hard to find.. I can't.. (maybe its available after I create an account).. but I already have a 3d printer so why would I want to create an account on the competitions site or whatever spark is? little goofy there guys..

Pat have you tried to open Print Studio by itself?

It goes through a database check when opening..

(It shows up like any other installed program under the start menu of Windows (I'm old.. is it even called the start button anymore 🙂 )

Or uninstall and reinstall.. (if you uninstall then go into Inventor 3d print environment and hit the print studio button it should take you to a valid download location (not buried on the Spark website)

Thank You for the reply.

I am using Inventor LT 2016

In the program description it said it supported Makerbot 3d printers.  I assumed that ment I could print directly via usb to my printer.

simular to makerbot desktop (wich has its own issues).

and no I havent tried making an stl and putting it on an sd card.  however i have made stl's and drag and dropped into makerbot desktop and had good reults printing via the usb.

Thanks

Hi,

Print Studio should take whatever 3D printer was available in the 3D print section of Inventor.

If you have one set there it should see it. You can also from within Print Studio change the printer there. That option is just below the Print Studio icon in the upper left corner of the program.

Print Studio also only handles STL and OBJ files.

As for the program itself, it is a standalone product and should be listed in your Programs & Features. Where you could do a change/repair on the installation itself.

Yeah I've been playing with it and did a new install and the fixed my issues'. I still can't get my printer to connect and it crashes every time I try to open or save a file, but I got an email into spark so I'll see what happens. Thanks for all the help. I think you guys got me headed in the right direction.
