Post Processing

I have a MASSO (https://masso.com.au/) controller to run my newly built CNC router.  I can run the HSM simulator fine but when I post process it NOTHING WORKS.  I have tried MANY combinations and nothing.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi CDT,

Have you populate the Gcode? if not, please generate the Gcode and send to the SD card to the CNC machine.

Hope it helps a little bit.

Thanks!

Thank you for the note. I think I did this but will try again later.

More specifically, I clicked on "generate" before I selected the "post processor". Then I do not know what "vendor" to select.

Regard the vendor, please contact MASSO to ensure.

As I know, there are three basic systems FANUC, Mitsubishi and SIEMENS, all of them understand Gcode well for sure.

Thanks!

You will need a post-processor to help convert the toolpath and machining info in HSM to gcode for your specific controller.

Masso lists a Fusion 360 post processor.  That may help.

See https://masso.com.au/docs/masso-cnc-controller-documentation/cam-post-processors/fusion-360-post-pro...

I would contact Masso support to see what they recommend.

If they can't help, Autodesk has a process to get post processors written for various controllers.  You might start here:

The suggestions have been a big help.  It turns out that the MASSO post processor for FUSION (and it works for Inventor too) seems to work fine if you are in the metric world.  There is a bug, and MASSO is working on it, when your project is in the English units.

I completed a three hour project last night and it is very clear I have a lot to learn.  the first 2+ hours the cutter meticulously took of several thousands with each pass.  Then in the last 5 minutes is took the rest of the material off.

I will attach the file in case anyone would care to give me help.  This should have only taken 10 or 15 minutes.

Thanks for all the help so far.

I make toys for my grand kids etc.  This happens to be the horizontal tail of a biplane.
