Possible flaw in Rip Feature?

Attached are two identical transitions. Trans1 updates properly when modified. Trans2 fails when modified. The only difference between them is how the Rip feature is constrained. Sketch3 (rip feature sketch) contains two sketch points. These points are constrained vertically to each other in both models so that the bottom point always lines up with to top point. In Trans1, the top sketch point is defined with dimensions and always updates properly when the model is modified. In Trans2, the top sketch point is defined with a coincident constraint and fails to stay connected when the model is updated. It's simple to fix, just edit the sketch and drag it back into place and the model then updates properly.

I'm just curious if I'm doing something incorrect with the coincident constraint or is this a bug in the Rip Feature.

I would not create a separate sketch for the rip points put them in Sketch1 & 2.

I can't place a point in sketch 2 and use it as a rip point. The rip feature does not occur on the exact quadrant of the circle because of the offset of the transition. Besides, this still doesn't answer my original question of why the constraint fails to reconnect automatically in Trans2.ipt.

Have you tried using open profiles for the loft? Then you won't need to use a rip feature.
