Plotting points and Lines in 3D space using Inventor

I am currently working on an earthworks project as part of a Civil Engineering degree. I would like to be able to use surveying coordinate points in metres to build a 3D cut/fill model of a site. Is there a way to plot points in 3 dimensional space in order to create a solid model with a labeled volume.

I am aware there is professional software that can run this kind of calculation with ease but is there a way to to this through the free student version of Inventor (or any other free Autodesk product).

Any help is greatly appreciated,

What software does your instructor use?  Learning professional software deserves (requires?) a professional level of preparation.

Perhaps Autodesk Civil 3D?

Students can get most (all?) Autodesk software for free.

Can you Attach an Excel file of these points?
