I designed a process plant with pneumatic piping running all over. Everything looks fine.

I then put the entire plant into a new assembly so I could get the origin to line up with the customers' Navisworks origin. All of the piping is misaligned in this new positioning assembly. I asked out CAD group and they had no idea.

Snip of some of the misaligned pipe in positioning assembly

I you are on a subscription try the new Navisworks 2024 version. I had a problem with Navisworks not showing the Inventor Model state correctly. Navisworks 2024 fixed that problem.

@m.domina

In your new assembly, what happens if you Rebuild All?

In the original assembly, is your Master Pipe Run constrained to the origin planes, and all individual pipe runs constrained to the Master Run's origin planes?

My problem is in Inventor. When I take an assembly of pipes and machines and place it into a new assembly, all of the pipes become misaligned.

Nothing happens when hitting Rebuild All.

The pipe runs are constrained to themselves with each elbow and stick of pipe having Insert mate and axial constraints to eachother.

When I measure the pipes that look misaligned, they measure in line. So maybe its all graphical and something with my computer?

Hi! If possible, please share the files in zip here or send it to me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the misalignment issue better.

Many thanks!
