Pipe Notching

Hi

I am working on a project which involves pipe notching, and I have decided to go with laser notching, So I have performed the notching as per the design and manufacturing process but the laser notching is messed up, none of the pipe matched, on communicating with the vendor he wants to have a male and female part in two pipes as shown in the images. The images which I uploaded are two separate assemblies, could you assist me on how do I do this in one single click(I want both male and female parts in the 2 pipe in the same assembly)

Hi, I don't understand your question. But I guess there is a problem of thickness compensation. In 3-axis laser cutting machines (where there is no angular rotation of the cutting head) it is necessary to touch up the pipe to compensate for the superposition of the thicknesses.

Watch the following video to know what I am talking about.

If this is the problem, you may have to similarly retouch your files before making the cuts.

Thanks for the reply. Want I meant in a question was I wanted notch profile which is having a male profile which looks like the one in the image 1 and female profile which looks something like in image 2. Image 3 is how the final product should look like. So how do I do image 3 having both male and female profiles

This would be an example of how to achieve what you are looking for with a multibody. If you work with the structure generator, I think you should perform a similar procedure, you should create the work plans, or you should work as solid assemblies and generate the structural tubes. I think using similar tools.

Thanks for the reply, the video would not help me because My model contains bends which are 3D and 4 pipes joining at one point, please help me out with this
