Performing a Draft is VERY slow

I trying to prepare a part and setting up drafts to get it ready for vacuum form mold.  The part has a lot of odd waves in it.  The first wall I thought my system hung so I tried it again and went to lunch to find that it performed the draft.  (the wall with green underline).  The second wall hasn't completed yet after an hour (orange line).

If I check my TaskManager, I can see Inventor taking about 20% of my CPU and the memory is slowly counting up so I'm guessing it's doing something.

Any tips for doing a more efficient draft?  Sorry, I can't include a file...just a masked image of a section on working on.  That draft wall that's taking forever has about 12 of the curves in it...

Try this:

  1. Create sketch with curves on base plane
  2. Extrude (cut) to delete this geometry
  3. Extrude (add) with Draft parameter (in one dialog box)

Hi! Depending on the selected faces and number of faces, the Draft can be a compute intensive operation. If possible, please share the file here or send it to me directly [email protected]. I would like to see if there is bug with Draft. In the meantime, you may want to use Ruled Surface to create the drafted faces.

Many thanks!

Thank you.  I sent the file by email since I cannot make it publicly accessible.
