Pattern feature along multi-line path

Hey,

Inventor 2025.2, I am experimenting with patterns.

I am trying to pattern a feature (a small hook) along a path that is consisting of a straight line, an arc, and then another straight line. I tried multiple things:

-pattern straight, and then pattern the straight pattern into a circular (is offset then into air),

-pattern along multiple patterned points along the part edge (feature patterns in count & position correctly then, but stays orientated towards only one face, so orientation does not change; I can select multiple faces with the face selection, but it makes no difference),

-pattern along curve length (most promising, but I can only select one of the three line segments, so it does not take the complete path into account),

-pattern initially along straight, then for the curve segment via a circular pattern (but then I pattern the complete straight pattern instead of the last occurence because the feature select button of the circular pattern does not allow to select occurences from the model/feature tree)

-create a 3d curve for the pattern along curve length that would generate a single continuous line, but no joy

Only workaround I would see would be to create a singular hook along the start of each line segment and then pattern this, but that is cumbersome in larger quantities. How can I pattern the hook in the attached file so that it stays always attached to the inner surface?

Seems exactly like this! I see some 3d sketch in your feature tree. Is that what you are using? How did you get it as one continuous segment? Am I missing something?

Hi!

You just have to include the geometry in a 3D sketch, then use that included geometry as curve length path.

Inspect the part attached, and ask if you have any doubt.

I was pretty sure that I tried exactly this to no effect, but now it works fine. Weird, probably my mistake somewhere. Thanks!
