Part Sketch Dimensioning Prompt not Working

Hi all 

when dimensioning lines, circles ect in a sketch normally when you dimension the object it automatically allows you to edit the dimension first before finishing the command. But now for some reason when i add a dimension to a line it finishes the command with what ever value the line was drawn at and i have to now double click on the dimension to change  the value.... 

can someone please help by telling me which box to tick to allow value entry before exiting a dimension contraint in sketch mode

Tools>Application Options>Sketch tab - Settings, Dimension...

With the dimension command active right click and make sure "edit dimension" is checked..

Hi! Yes, there is an option to control it. Besides the one shown by Brian (right-click context menu on creating a sketch dimension), there is a setting in Tools -> App Options -> Sketch -> Constraint Settings -> "Edit dimension when created."

Sometimes you question your own logic wondering if it has always been like this  !

Can't understand how this switches itself off now and then but I always forget where this instruction is buried - and I have to say DOH! every time I find it because it was there all the time...😂

See Message #3 - you can accidently do it when using right mouse button gestures.

Probably aiming for End Sketch and instead turned of dimension option.
